  • Trek through lush forests and rolling hills, surrounded by breathtaking views
  • Enjoy a relatively easy trek that is suitable for all levels of hikers

  • Escape the hustle and bustle of city life in Pokhara and spend time in the peaceful, serene wilderness of the Annapurna region

If you only have two days but still want to feel the mountains, this is the trek for you. The Australian Camp Trek is one of our favourite short options from Pokhara — easy enough for beginners and families, yet genuinely beautiful from start to finish.

The trek takes 2 to 3 days and requires no special fitness or experience. Just a good pair of shoes and a willingness to slow down and enjoy Nepal.

    • Trek Description

We will pick you up from your hotel in Pokhara after breakfast and take you on a one-hour drive to Kade (1,770 m), where your adventure begins. From here the trail winds gently uphill through beautiful dense forest — the kind that makes you slow down and breathe a little deeper.

As you climb, the trees open up and the mountains reveal themselves one by one. At Australian Camp (2,065 m) you will understand why we love this trek so much. The Annapurna range stretches out in front of you in all its glory — and we always take a moment here just to appreciate it. From there we continue to Pothana for a delicious local lunch, before making our way down to Dhampus (1,650 m) — one of our favourite villages on any trek. Perched on a ridge with breathtaking views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre (6,997 m), it is the kind of place that feels like it belongs to another world entirely. We end the day together watching the sun set slowly behind the Himalayas. Some evenings here are truly unforgettable.

The next morning we rise early — and we promise it is worth it. The sunrise over the Annapurna range from Dhampus is one of the most beautiful things we have ever seen, and we have seen it many times. After a warm breakfast, we take a gentle two-hour walk downhill through quiet villages and peaceful landscapes to Phedi (1,440 m), where a 45-minute drive brings you safely back to your hotel in Pokhara.

Two days in the mountains with us. We hope they stay with you for a long time.

    • Trekking Seasons

The Australian Camp Trek is one of the most accessible treks in the Annapurna region and can be enjoyed throughout the year.

Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November)

These are the finest seasons for this trek. Clear skies, mild temperatures between 10–20°C (50–68°F), and stunning mountain views make for perfect walking conditions.

      Summer (June to August)

The monsoon season brings warm temperatures around 15–25°C (59–77°F) and lush, green landscapes. The trails can be muddy after heavy rain but the scenery is wonderfully alive. A quieter, more peaceful time to be on the trail.

      Winter (December to February)

Cold and crisp, with temperatures between 0–10°C (32–50°F). The trails are quiet and the mountain views are sharp and beautiful. Good layering is essential — please do reach out and we will help you prepare.

Please feel free to check the weather forecast for Dhampus and Australian Camp before you finalise your packing.
